How it Works
Detect unusual activity
Choose which cameras should be monitored and when. An alarm is triggered if a person is detected on site while the system is armed.
Assess the threat
Monitoring agents immediately review video footage to determine if there is a threat to people or property. You can also customize what types of events should raise an alarm.
Take action
If there is a legitimate threat, the monitoring agent will immediately notify your designated call list. You can also choose to have agents request emergency dispatch. If there is no visible threat, the agent will dismiss the incident, helping to avoid false alarms.

Key benefits
Built-in Video Verification
Whether an alarm is triggered by a camera, access control, or intrusion sensor, monitoring agents can review footage and respond appropriately.
Talk down to intruders
Sirens or strobe lights can help scare off intruders, but nothing works quite like a human voice.
If an alarm is triggered, professional monitoring agents can talk down to intruders through Verkada’s powerful BZ11 Horn Speaker.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pay extra for professional monitoring?
Professional monitoring is bundled into Verkada’s LIC-BA Alarms License. One Alarms License is required per physical address. Within a given address you can choose to have as many cameras monitored as you would like. A free 30-day trial is available.
Do I need an alarm panel or other alarm hardware to enable professional monitoring?
No, professional monitoring can be used with just Verkada security cameras. Additional hardware, such as an alarm panel or wireless sensors, is optional for added coverage.
Can I choose what video footage monitoring agents are able to see?
Yes, you choose which cameras you would like to be monitored, as well as set a schedule for when the cameras will be “armed” (monitored). You can adjust these settings at any time in Command.
Who is monitoring my camera footage?
Verkada contracts with fully redundant, US-based, UL-listed central monitoring stations with Five Diamond Certification from The Monitoring Association. Certified monitoring centers are also available in Canada and the UK.
Can I have my site constantly monitored?
Professional monitoring is designed for after-hours, event-based video monitoring. Customers should not use professional monitoring to monitor spaces with constant human activity.
